TUTORING
I've not done online tutoring before, how does it work?
Really simple. When it is time for class, your tutor will email you a link. Simply click on it to begin. Sessions take place on an online platform, utilising audio & video calls as well as an interactive white board. See our how it works video for more information.
I'm not sure if online tutoring is right for me.
We completely understand that you may have some reservations about online tutoring, be it about the quality or experience. Combining years of experience in the industry and the latest technology, we have crafted a framework that allows students to receive excellent support from incredible tutors across the world. Why restrict yourself to your geographic area when you could receive help from the best without even having to leave your house? Whether you're looking to achieve a predicted grade, pass a subject or fulfil a personal goal, our tutors are committed to helping you succeed in the IB.
Can I speak to someone before I register?
Yes, you can schedule a call back with a member of our team. If none of the slots work for you, just email us at contact@ascientia.org.
Can I register for multiple subjects?
Of course! When you fill out the registration form, just let us know which subjects you want so that we can match you with the right tutors.
How do I manage my classes?
As an Ascientia client, you have access to our all-in-one proprietary platform. This will allow you to handle all of your tutoring needs in one place, including but not limited to scheduling classes and reviewing lesson summaries.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of hours per month?
It depends on which tutoring plan you have selected. The Circle plan is designed for flexibility and has no minimum/maximum hours. All other plans have a fixed number of hours. However, none of the plans are restricted to a certain timeframe. You can use the hours throughout your IB.
How do you match tutors and students?
We understand that different students have different needs and types of support. Through our consultation process, we aim to understand where the student is struggling and what type of help they respond best to. We then use that information to match them with the best suited tutor. Rest assured, all of our tutors are high-achieving IB alumni and excellent tutors.
I would like to change tutor.
We try our very best to match you with the right tutor. Based on experience, we have seen that there is always a slight adjustment period for student and tutor in the beginning. Our tutors are dedicated to providing you with a personalised service, therefore it is imperative that you provide useful feedback to your tutor to help facilitate a smooth and beneficial experience. However, we understand that things may not always work out. If you ever wish to change tutors, please get in touch with us directly at contact@ascientia.org. We will endeavour to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
PRICING
How much does Ascientia charge?
£42 per hour is our standard proposed rate. Please refer to our Pricing Plans for a full list of options available.
What currency can I pay in?
Our default currency is British Pound (£), however we offer the possibility of paying in Euros (€) and United States Dollars ($). View our Pricing Structure.
Which payment methods can I use?
Payments are made via secure debit/credit card payment powered by StripeTM. Bank transfers are accepted, please contact your account manager.
When are invoices sent?
We send invoices on a monthly basis, on the 1st of every month you will be billed for the hours accrued in the previous month.
How do I manage my billing and payments?
We have built our own proprietary platform that allows you to track all of your finances. You can check for both outstanding payments as well as upcoming invoices. Our platform also allows you to pay directly using StripeTM with ease and convenience.
What do I do if my invoice is incorrect?
We strive to maintain high and accurate standards in all areas of business, so we hope that this will be a rare problem. However, if the invoice is inaccurate, or not reflective of the hours spent with the tutor, simply contact us at contact@ascientia.org. We will resolve the issue as quickly as we can.
