Your IB Attack Plan (Webinar Series)
These last few months have undoubtably been difficult for many students all around the world. With schools having closed, and you having potentially missed considerable teaching hours, you may feel a little underprepared for the IB. To help you through this uncertain and difficult period, we are running a series of free webinars and panel discussions related to various aspects of the IB and life beyond the IB. Best of all, it's completely free to attend!
Internal Assessments: Understanding Your IB Coursework
Internal Assessments provide great opportunities to both study a specific area of interest in more depth, as well as gain insight into the (life important) skill of research and writing.
Many students struggle with their IB coursework, be it with the requirements, how to approach it or structure it. It's easy to get caught up in meeting the criteria and miss the point of the task. In this panel, we aim to break down the requirements into digestible pieces so that you can focus on exploring your research in a less stressful and more enjoyable way.
As a mathematics and sciences focused company, we will provide dedicated time for Q&As specifically about IA's in Groups 4 and 5. However, we encourage anybody struggling or apprehensive about their coursework to attend. The ability to research and write is an integral aspect of many industries and an incredible life skill to have under your belt!
Who is involved?
- Harry: MPhys at University of Oxford
- Ella: MBBS at Brighton and Sussex Medical School
- Yasmin: BS Chemistry with Management at University of Bath

The IB & University: The Struggle Is Real
The IB is an intense two-year programme. Compound that with having to deal with university applications and answering the often-dreaded question of "what next?", and things can seem a little overwhelming. It sure felt that way for us, and we wished that we had more guidance and help when we were in the IB.
This open panel allows recent IB and university graduates to share their experiences of dealing with the IB and applying to University - the positives, negatives and useful tips. Only a few years ahead of you, they can fully relate to your struggles as well as help provide real concrete bits of advice on how to balance your current and future education
They will also be able to help answer practical questions such as "How do I get a scholarship?" "What's the difference between universities in the US, Europe and Asia?" "I think I'm interested in this, but I don't really know. How should I pick my degree?"
Panellists:
- Jimena: Took a gap year after finishing the IB, then started studying medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School
- Nicole: Applied to study law at University College London as an international student
- Valentin: Applied directly to Durham University as an EU national
- JiaHer: Spent 6 months after the IB on a boat and 6 months on a gap year, then studied Computer Science at Minerva

Mentor Network: Beyond the IB

We're dedicated to helping students explore life, education and personal interests, and how they intertwine. This panel brings together awesome individuals from a range of backgrounds, pursuing a variety of journeys. We hope their insights, thought processes and inside knowledge will provide useful for students. As an interactive panel, students will be encouraged to ask questions and help discover ways the discussions can be practically applied to their own lives.
